Queenstown Markets

The Queenstown markets offer visitors a wide range of local produce, arts and crafts.

Where to find the Queenstown markets

The markets operate from two separate venues:

The Creative Queenstown Arts and Crafts Markets are located in Earnslaw Park, on the lakefront in downtown Queenstown.

They run every Saturday (with a few additional Fridays thrown in), and feature arts and crafts from a wide range of local and South Island artists and crafters.

The markets regularly attract sellers from around the South Island, so you are likely to find items influenced by other regions like Nelson and the West Coast.

Paintings, woodwork, jewellery, pottery, photographs, carvings and soaps are just some of the lovingly crafted items that can be found here.

Over the years we've picked up some nice bits and pieces, and it's a great spot to wander for an hour or two.

Being on the lakefront, the backdrop of the lake and Remarkables is always a distraction (but a very welcome one), and we can't imagine too many better locations anywhere in the world for a marketplace.

The markets also showcase local musical talent, adding to the relaxed Southern Lakes feel of the day.

You can learn more on their dedicated website here.

The Remarkables Markets are located at the Red Barn at the Remarkables Park shopping centre at Frankton (near Queenstown Airport).

They run from October to April each year.

With the backdrop of The Remarkables, it's a relaxing way to spend a Saturday morning.

There's a wide range of local produce, arts and crafts, and freshly cooked food (perhaps a quick breakfast to begin).

There's also live music to keep you entertained as you wander.

There's lots more to do here in Queenstown

After visiting the Queenstown markets, there's no time to put your feet up!

Queenstown is one of those very special destinations.

And that's because you will never be left wondering how you will pass the time.

If you like your outdoor activities you can do everything from a relaxing wine tour, to bungy jumping off a bridge.

There's jetboat rides, para gliding, whitewater rafting, lake cruises, the famous Skyline Gondola, amazing scenic drives, great walks, world class golf courses, and so much more here.

You can learn more about Queenstown on our dedicated Queenstown page here.

And if you are in the region, we can highly recommend putting aside a day to head over the Crown Range to nearby Wanaka. It's around an hours drive, and is a beautiful lakeside town with wonderful scenery and plenty to do.

If you have kids, they will love Puzzling World (and you will too).
