The beautiful South Island

New Zealand's spectacular South Island is famous for its stunning scenery and almost endless range of activities.

Known by the traditional Maori people as Te Wai Pounamu (which means the waters of greenstone), the South Island is a visual feast.

From the awesome Fiordland (which includes Milford and Doubtful Sounds), to the wild West Coast, beautiful Queenstown, World Heritage listed Mt Cook, and the amazing Tasman region, the South Island has something for everyone.
